Terms of Use

These terms cover the Eden Key app, the physical Eden Key, and our websites (together, “Eden”). They’re an agreement between you and [Legal entity name]. By using Eden, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Eden.

1. Who can use Eden

You must be at least 13, or the minimum age for online services where you live. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

2. Your account

You sign in with your email address. Keep access to that email secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Give us accurate information, and don’t make an account for anyone else.

3. What Eden is, and what it isn’t

A commitment tool, not a guarantee. Eden locks apps using Apple’s Screen Time framework. Apple controls that framework and may change it. iOS updates, device settings or other circumstances may stop a lock from working as expected. We don’t promise any particular result for your screen time, focus or habits.

Not medical care. Eden’s breathing exercise supports general wellbeing. It isn’t medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, and it doesn’t replace professional care. If you’re in crisis, contact your local emergency services.

Emergencies. Your iPhone’s Emergency SOS isn’t affected by Eden. But Eden can delay or prevent access to apps you’ve locked, including during sealed windows, when the key won’t open them. Don’t lock any app you may need in an emergency, such as maps, medical, rideshare, or a messaging app you rely on for safety. Emergency overrides are limited on purpose (five for the life of a key), so use them wisely.

4. The physical key

Buying a key. Keys are sold at edendetox.com. Prices and availability can change. Shipping dates for preorders and founders batches are estimates, and we’ll tell you if one changes.

Returns. You can return an unused key within [return window] of delivery for a refund. Email us to start a return.

Warranty. We’ll repair or replace a key that fails because of a defect in materials or workmanship within [warranty period] of delivery. This doesn’t cover normal wear, loss, or damage from misuse. You may also have legal rights in your country that these terms don’t limit.

Pairing. Each key pairs with one account. To give a key to someone else, email us. If you lose your key, contact us; replacements can be bought.

Safety. The key contains small parts and is worn on a cord. Keep it away from young children. Don’t wear it while sleeping, and don’t let children wear it. Don’t try to open the key or rewrite its tag.

5. Your content

You own what you put into Eden: your name, photo, ritual names and feedback. You give us permission to store and back up that content, only so we can run Eden.

The Eden app, its design, the seed-of-life mark and the key’s design belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own use.

8. Price

The Eden Key app is free. If we ever add paid features, we’ll show you the price before you pay.

9. Changes and availability

Eden is a young product. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We’ll try to give notice of significant changes.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Eden and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or put other people at risk.

11. Disclaimers

Except where the law says otherwise, Eden is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

13. Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim.

14. App Store terms

If you downloaded Eden from the App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its content, and it has no obligation to provide support or maintenance. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [governing state/country]. Disputes will be handled in its courts. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you more protection, you keep those protections.

16. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top and tell you about meaningful changes. If you keep using Eden after a change, you accept the new terms.
