Terms of Service

These terms cover the Eden Key, the Eden app, and edendetox.com. By buying a key or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't, don't use Eden.

Eden is operated by LEGAL ENTITY NAME, REGISTERED ADDRESS ("Eden", "we", "us"). Contact: support@edendetox.com.

1. What you're buying

There are two separate things.

The key is a physical object. You buy it once and you own it outright.

Eden is the app: the lock, meditations, journeys, cohorts and progress. It's a subscription, billed through your Apple ID. The key is not a licence to Eden, and Eden is not included in the price of the key beyond any introductory period.

Founders. The first 25 keys sold include the first six months of Eden at no charge. After that the subscription renews at the then-current price unless you cancel.

Referrals. If someone starts a subscription using your key code, you and they each receive six additional months at no charge. We may cap, change or withdraw this offer, and we may withhold credit where we believe it was obtained dishonestly — self-referrals, made-up accounts, or bulk posting of codes.

2. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

Subscriptions are sold through the App Store and are governed by Apple's payment terms as well as these.

• Payment is taken by Apple when the free period ends, and at each renewal.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancel any time in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. We can't

cancel it for you; Apple doesn't give us that control.

• Cancelling stops the next charge. It doesn't refund the current period.
• Prices may change. We'll tell you before a change affects you, and you can

cancel before it takes effect.

Refunds for the app are handled by Apple under their policy, not by us.

Refunds for the key are ours. You can return an unused key in its original condition within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, minus return postage. Email us first so we can give you an address.

3. Your account

You need an account to use Eden. We sign you in with a code sent to your email address; there's no password.

You're responsible for keeping access to that email address secure. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account.

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age in your country if that's higher. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian has to agree to these terms on your behalf.

One person, one account. Don't share it.

4. Cohorts, buddies and things you write

A cohort is a room of up to twelve people. Anything you write there is visible to everyone in it. Your ring closures are shared with your cohort — that's the point of the room.

Behave decently. Don't harass anyone, don't post anything unlawful, hateful, sexual or threatening, don't spam, and don't post other people's private information. A captain can remove anyone from their room, and we can remove anyone from Eden.

Your words are yours. You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to store and display it to the people you sent it to, which is what makes a chat room work. Nothing more.

We don't moderate proactively. Cohorts are small and private. If someone is behaving badly, leave the room, or report it to support@edendetox.com.

5. What Eden is not

Read this part properly.

Eden is not a medical device and not therapy. Meditation is not treatment for a mental health condition. If you're struggling, please talk to a doctor or a qualified professional. If you're in crisis, contact your local emergency services.

Meditation can be uncomfortable. Sustained attention practices occasionally surface difficult feelings or memories. Stop if that happens, and seek support.

The lock is not a safety mechanism. Eden makes it harder to pick up your phone, deliberately. Don't rely on it in a situation where you might urgently need your phone, and don't use it while driving or doing anything else where a delay could hurt you.

The memento mori figures are illustrative. They're arithmetic on a life expectancy of eighty and the numbers you entered. They aren't a prediction about your life.

6. Availability

We try to keep Eden running, but we don't promise it always will. We may change features, retire them, or take the service down for maintenance. If we discontinue Eden entirely we'll give you reasonable notice and stop billing you.

Your key keeps working as an object regardless. It has no electronics in it.

7. Ending things

You can stop any time: cancel the subscription, and delete your account in Settings → Danger Zone.

We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we reasonably believe you're harming other users. Where it's fair to do so, we'll tell you why first.

8. Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit.

Subject to that, Eden is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Eden after that means you accept the new terms.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of JURISDICTION, and the courts of JURISDICTION have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you're a consumer you may also bring proceedings where you live.
